Trust Bank Ltd held its 19th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday the 18th May 2017 at the Kairaba Beach Hotel.

The AGM was well attended by Shareholders who used the occasion to urge the Board and Management of Trust Bank to continue to transform the Bank and consolidate our status as the leading bank in the Gambia.

It was announced at the AGM that Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta, our former chairman, Mr. Edward Graham (former Managing Director of SSHFC), Mr. Saibatou Faal (former Deputy Managing Director of SSHFC) have retired.

The new Managing Director of Social Security & Housing Finance Corporation- Mr. Mohamadou Manjang was also appointed and introduced as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Trust Bank.

Two other non-executives Directors-Mr. Franklin Hayford and Mr. Mustapha Njie retired but were re-elected as Directors to the board.
The AGM adopted a final dividend proposal of 30 bututs per share, which brings the total dividends to 40 bututs per share for the 2016 financial year representing a payout of GMD 80 million out of the Groups profit of GMD 105 million after a statutory transfer of 15% to reserve.

The Bank’s Annual Report and Consolidated Accounts for the year ended 31st December 2016 were both received and adopted.
The banks earnings for 2016 dipped due to prevailing economic uncertainties associated with election year. These were short term challenges and according to the Managing Director of the Bank-Mr. Ibrahima Salla, "a sustainable path has been charted through cost cutting, restructuring and an enhanced customer service to improve the situation for the 2017 financial year".

Mr. Salla further highlighted the Bank’s unrestrained commitment to the tag line of being "Proudly Gambian". "Trust bank has gone beyond that to becoming a more pronounced sustainable development partner in the key sectors of health, education and sports".

The outgoing Chairman used the occasion to assure the Shareholders that the bank will continue to pursue broad objectives to ensure the delivery of quality service and to enhance returns on their investments.
