TRUST BANK LTD DONATED OVER D200,000 TO BANSANG HOSPITAL

On Friday 23rd November 2018, Trust Bank Ltd donated laboratory equipmentsworth D200,000.00 to Bansang Hospital. The ceremony was attended by a wide cross section of the Central River Region (CRR) including the Governor of CRR (ably represented by Ebrima Janko Sanneh), the Alkalo of Bansang-MrSaibeh Darboe, Imam of SukurrKunda-AlhChernoHasifJallow, the CEO of Bansang Hospital-Mr Baba Jeng and other dignitaries.

The donationincludes refrigerators, Blood capillary Tubes, Microscope (Trinocular video LCD), Air Conditioners, Ceiling fans and other equipments.

In presenting the donated items, the Managing Director of Trust Bank Ltd-Mr. IbrahimaSalla said; “we at Trust Bank LTD are particularly proud to donate to this special hospital because the promotion of quality healthcare is a cause close to our hearts as it constitutes one of the main pillars on which our Corporate Social Responsibility program is built”.

He went on to say that “Following the recent storm that hit this region, a team was dispatched to visit the Hospital to have a firsthand knowledge of the extent of the damage and to find out how we may contribute to remedy the situation. We were informed that some of the equipments in the lab were damaged by the storm and that jeopardized the proper functioning of the lab and seriously compromised the overall care of the esteemed patients. As a consequence of those dire circumstances, and acting on the recommendation of the hospital management, Trust Bank Ltd set aside D200,000.00 for the procurement of new lab equipment’s for Bansang Hospital”.

MrSalla concluded by conveying to the board and management of Bansang Hospital a profound sense of joy and appreciation and also reiterate the bank’s commitment to further strengthen the partnership for the benefit of the people of the CRR.

On his part, the CEO of Bansang Hospital- Mr. Baba Jeng said that the partnership between Trust Bank and the hospital started few years ago even before the commencement of a full Banking relationship barely six months ago.

He said that during this period, the Bank adopted the Theatre Unit of the hospital and an initial donation of D100,000 was received in 2014 to support the unit. 

“if the hospital can benefit so much from Trust Bank even in the absence of a strong banking relationship, I see no reason why we should not expect a lot more now that we have a full-blown banking relationship”. Mr. Jeng concluded.
