Thursday, 06 October 2016 00:00

The partnership between Trust Bank LTD and Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital was further strengthened on Wednesday 5th October 2016, when the Bank donated 29 different items worth D100, 000.00 to the Hospital.
The items include detergents, clothing, shaving machines, plumbing & electrical materials amongst others.

The Acting Managing Director of Trust Bank Ltd, Mr. Ibrahima Salla in a speech during the presentation of the items to the hospital, said the partnership between Trust Bank Ltd and Tanka Tanka Pshchiatric Hospital started in 2014 when Trust Bank saw the need to extend a helping hand.

He said that it was not surprising that Trust Bank values the symbiotic relationship with Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Hospital and continue to enhance it for the benefit of our beloved country.
As a Gambian bank, Trust Bank Ltd is committed to right a wrong that has put mental health care at the back of the queue for private sector funding.

Mr. Salla said that this donation goes beyond ordinary Corporate Social Responsibility, that it is more like a response to our national duty as a Gambian bank.

He underscored the incredible work that the mental health professionals and campaigners are doing which unfortunately is not always given the recognition it deserve.

He therefore urged the Honorable Minister for Health & Social Welfare to identify those hardworking men and women going that extra mile to help people with mental health issues and nominate them for national awards.

In his remarks, Honorable Minister for Health & Social Welfare-Dr. Omar Sey underscored the strategic partnership between Trust Bank and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Gambia.
He used the occasion to call on the Gambian people to support Trust Bank. “A good percentage of every dime you contribute towards Trust Bank Ltd profits will be plowed back to the communities through their Corporate Social Responsibility”. He concluded.

The presentation ceremony was attended by the Director of Health Services Dr. Momodou Lamin Waggeh, Head of Marketing & Business Development, Head of Sales & PR of Trust Bank Ltd, Staff of Tanka Tanka and Ministry of Health & Social Welfare, Staff of Trust Bank, media fraternity and invited guests.
