TRUST BANK DONATES D100.000 to Gambia National Olympics Committee (GNOC)

The Olympic Games are the world's biggest sporting spectacle and it has grown so much that nearly every nation is now represented. It is in the light of this that The Gambia joins the rest of the world in the 31st Olympiad Games scheduled to take place in Rio from the 5th to 21st August 2016.

 

 

This is the first time The Gambia is been represented by a team of four participants in the Olympic Games and it is a remarkable achievement by the Gambia National Olympics Committee.

As part of our contribution towards the promotion of  sports in The Gambia, Trust Bank donated D100, 000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Dalasis) to The Gambia National Olympics Committee (GNOC) at a colorful ceremony held at the bank’s boardroom on Monday 25th July 2016.

 

   

The Cheque was presented to the President of GNOC Alhagie Uncle Momodou Dibba by Trust Bank’s Acting Managing Director Mr. Ibrahim Salla.

The ceremony was attended by the 2nd vice president of GNOC Mr. Abdoulie M.B Jallow, the Acting Deputy Managing Director of Trust Bank Mrs. Njilan Senghore Njie, Staff of GNOC, Trust Bank Staff, invited guests and the press.

EXCELLENCE IN THE MILLENNIUM AWARD 2016

 

As a very important part of our commitment to the promotion of quality education in The Gambia, Trust Bank Ltd held the 13th edition of its annual Excellence in The Millennium Awards on Wednesday 24th February 2016 at the Kairaba Beach Hotel. The event is hosted every year to recognize the exceptional achievements of the ten most outstanding students in The Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination (GABECE).

 

The ten awardees each received a Certificate of Excellence, prize sum of D5, 000 in the form of a Trust Bank Student Account and a brand new Tablet. A Certificate of Excellence and a sum of D20, 000.00 was awarded to the school that produced the highest number of awardees.  The student with the most outstanding results was also awarded an additional cash prize of D5, 000.00 and D10, 000.00 went to the school she attended.

TRUST BANK DONATED OVER D116, 500 TO THE GAMBIA LEGAL COUNCIL


The Gambia legal Council on Thursday 14th January 2016 held its fourth Call to the Bar Ceremony where it awarded prizes to 10 most outstanding Law students at The Gambia Law School in Banjul.

Since the inception of the ceremony in 2013, Trust Bank has been donating prizes to the most outstanding students identified by the school.

As part of our contribution towards the promotion of an effective legal system in The Gambia, the bank donated D116, 500.00 (One Hundred and Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Dalasi) to The Gambia Legal Council to purchase prizes for the 10 students. A total of 37 graduates were call to the bar out which 14 were women and 23 men. Omar Jabang was awarded the most outstanding student.

The ceremony was attended by the Vice President Aja Dr. Isatou Njie Saidy, Minister of Justice Hon. Mama Fatou Signateh, Chief Justice and Chairperson of the General Legal Council Hon. Justice Emmanuel Fagbenle, Cabinet Ministers, Solicitor General & legal Secretary overseeing The Gambia Law School Cherno Marenah, Service Chiefs, staff and students from the Law School, staff of Trust Bank Ltd, invited guests and the press.

TRUST BANK DONATES OVER D150, 000.00 TO THE LEMAN STREET CLINIC

Leman Street Clinic is one of the oldest clinical health facility in The Gambia geared towards the treatment of antenatal infant welfare and family planning.


Since 2005, Trust Bank has been supporting the clinic in upgrading the standard of the facility by making it clean, accessible, secured and habitable for doctors on call.

 

On 5th January 2016, Trust Bank Ltd handed over the refurbished Clinic at a presentation ceremony held at the Leman Street Clinic grounds in Banjul.

The total cost of the refurbishment was D150, 000.00 which included the following; a refrigerator, painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and the provision of furniture and cleaning materials which was presented to the Minister of Health and Social Welfare Hon. Omar Sey by Trust Bank’s General Manager Banking Operations Mr. Oreme Joiner.

The event was attended by the Director of Health Services Dr. Samba Ceesay, staff of the Ministry, Regional Health Director Alhagie Sankareh, Senior Marketing and Sales Manager of Trust Bank Mr. Dodou Nyang, staff of Trust Bank Ltd, staff of Leman Street Clinic, invited guests and the press.
