Mr. Abdoulie Tambedou is the new Managing Director (MD) of The SSHFC following his appointment on the 28th of April 2020. Prior to this, he served as Director-General of the Gambia Public Procurement Authority from August 2018 to April 2020, and Managing Director, Gambia Ports Authority from March 2017 to August 2018, and from April 2011 to August 2012.

During his early working life, just after GCE A Levels at St Augustine’s High School, Mr Tambedou worked for Pannell Kerr Forster Chartered and Certified Accountants, Banjul between 1987 & 1989, then joined the Ports Finance department from 1989 and rose through the ranks to the position of Director of Finance in 2004. He served as Finance Director from 2004 up to his appointment as Managing Director in April 2011.

Between 2012 and 2017, Mr. Tambedou served as a Finance Analyst in the UNDP Gambia Country Office from March 2016 to March 2017, before which he served as Deputy Finance Controller of Senegambia Beach Hotel from November 2014 to March 2016. Between April and August 2009, Mr. Tambedou also served as Financial Management Specialist as part of the Canada Pacific Consultancy Services Limited (CPCS) team in a World Bank Port Sector Reform Project at the Liberia Port Authority, Monrovia. Within a team of Legal, HR, and Port Operations, the firm acted as Transaction Advisors for the Port Concession project.

Mr. Tambedou graduated as a Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 1994, MBA Strategic Management and Finance from the University of Wales, Cardiff Business School in 1997, graduated as an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Bankers of Nigeria in 2016 where he was awarded the highest mark as the Best student in Banking Law, Regulation and Corporate Governance paper. As part of his professional development, Mr. Tambedou has undergone various courses in Management, Leadership, Public Procurement Reforms, Strategy, and Risk Management among others.

As MD/CEO of the SSHFC, he serves in the Boards of Directors of the SSHFC itself, Gambia Transport Services Company Ltd, Gam Petroleum Storage Co. Ltd, and Trust Bank Gambia Ltd. He was also recently appointed as a Board member of the Gambia Tourism and Hospitality Institute. Since February 2019, Mr. Tambedou had been serving as a member of the Financial Reporting Oversight Board of the Gambia Institute of Chartered Accountants.
